MOBILE KITCHEN AT YMCA OF CATAWBA VALLEY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 23, 2024
(February 2024) – The Mobile Kitchen program at YMCA of Catawba Valley is a unique initiative aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and culinary skills within the community. This program is designed to address the growing need for accessible and practical cooking education, empowering individuals and families to make informed choices about their nutrition. Each class is led by instructors who will guide participants through each step of the culinary process, from selecting fresh and wholesome ingredients to mastering cooking techniques that align with heart-healthy living.
Instructors will demonstrate valuable insights into nutrition, portion control, and the importance of incorporating heart-healthy ingredients into daily meals. By delivering interactive cooking sessions, the YMCA of Catawba Valley is emphasizing the role of nutritious choices in the overall well-being of our community. All materials and food are provided for each session along with detailed step-by-step hands-on instructions from the instructors.
February is the national observance of Heart Health Month. Heart Health Month is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular health and encouraging individuals to adopt heart-healthy habits. The Mobile Kitchen program serves as a practical avenue for community members to proactively engage in heart-healthy practices, fostering a culture of wellness throughout the region.
"Our Mobile Kitchen program is a dynamic and accessible way for our community to embrace heart-healthy living and learn more about the ease of simple cooking. Our instructors find the joy of cooking and nutritional education which adds a lasting value to the results of each program. Make our Mobile Kitchen a part of your next team-building activity or a way to learn more culinary skills," said Lala Kozischek, Corporate Wellness Director at the YMCA of Catawba Valley.
